COVID-19 stats: Daily cases rises to three-digit figure

The Maldives recorded 110 positive cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours. This is the most number of positive cases recorded in one day over the past couple of weeks, with the country’s tally rising to 12,314.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said out of the 1,828 tests conducted during the period, 86 positive cases were identified in the Greater Male’ Region. The remaining 24 cases were registered in the atolls. Out of these, 31 are locals while 79 are foreigners.

The Maldives has recorded 11,316 recoveries and 45 deaths until now, with two deaths recorded over the past 24 hours. 947 cases are active across 10 islands and 26 resorts, and 59 people are currently hospitalized.
