The Maldives on Sunday registered an additional COVID-19 death.
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), an 86 year old local male who was receiving treatment at state-run Dharumavantha Hospital passed away at 4:27 pm on Sunday. This is the 51st COVID-19 death registered in the Maldives, and the second death to occur within the span of a week.
The number of positive cases recorded in the Maldives has been on the rise in recent days.
