COVID-19: Hulhumeedhoo under HPA monitoring; four positive cases

Hulhumeedhoo has been put under the Health Protection Agency (HPA)’s monitoring status after four positive cases of COVID-19 were identified on the island.

According to HPA, two persons who traveled to Hulhumeedhoo tested positive for the virus last week while in quatantine. No contacts had been reported from the quarantine site at that time, and no persons were put in quarantine in relation to the positive cases, said HPA.

However, four persons who exhibited symptoms of COVID-19 have now been tested and their results came back positive, said HPA. A total of 60 people were on the site, they added. The island has been put under lockdown until contact tracing is completed.
