The Maldives recorded an additional COVID-19 death on Thursday.
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), a 79 year old local female admitted at main government hospital, Dharumavantha Hospital passed away at 07:17pm on Thursday. This is the 65th COVID-19 death recorded in the Maldives.
The Maldives has recorded over 22,000 cases of COVID-19 to date. Authorities have expressed concern that the number of cases remain high despite a slight decrease in weekly positive cases.
