Portugal's Sata airline will begin direct flights to the Maldives in July.
The charter flights will be organized by the airline's Maldives agent, Inner Maldives. AVAS has learnt that Sata is commencing flights to the Maldives with special support from the country's President. Special events will be held following the commencement of the flights to increase the number of tourist arrivals from Portugal and to promote Maldives Tourism in the country.
A special team from Portugal comprising of renowned businessmen, investors, government officials and media personnel will be arriving in the Maldives on May 20th to mark the commencement of the flights. A special 'Portugal Night' will be held at a resort in Raa atoll on April 21,in which Maldivian businesses will also take part. Some products from Portugal will be showcased at the event.
