COVID-19: Monitoring mechanisms active in 30 islands

The Health Protection Agency (HPA)'s monitoring mechanisms are currently active on 30 islands.

The Maldives is battling a surge in COVID-19 cases, and have reported record single-day increases in positive cases over the past week.

The two islands where monitoring mechanisms were most recently activated are Lh. Lhaimagu and R. Hulhudhuffaaru. Both islands are under monitoring status as positive cases of COVID-19 were reported from the island. Contact tracing is now ongoing in both island, said HPA.
